Passenger Traffic on Domestic Routes in August Exceed the Volume of 2019

In August, the passenger traffic of the Tolmachevo airport amounted to 594,265 passen-gers. Domestic flights served 582,963 passengers (+4% comparable to the same period in 2019), and international flights — 11,302 passengers.

Positive dynamics in cargo aircraft operations saved in August number of technical stops was twice the same as last year.

The passenger traffic on southern routes of Russia in August increased by 55.8% com-pared to the same period in 2019, the main growth in volume is accounted for Sochi, Simfe-ropol, Anapa, Krasnodar. The regional program remained at the level of August last year in terms of the passenger traffic.

It should be noted a significant growth of passenger traffic from Novosibirsk to St. Peters-burg due to the continuation of Pobeda flight program in 2020 (+22% to last year) and posi-tive dynamics in a number of other destinations: Blagoveshchensk (+30.1%), Norilsk (+24.7%), Neryungri (+29.7%), Chelyabinsk (+32.9%), Ufa (+86.65), Samara (+27%), Ka-zan (+22.4%) and Novokuznetsk (+14.5%).

The recently opened flights to new destinations - Orenburg, Volgograd and Grozny have quickly gained popularity among passengers of Tolmachevo airport. Thus, the average passenger load factor of Novosibirsk - Orenburg route operated by Embraer-170 amounts up to 94%.

This year S7 Airlines has also opened new regular regional flights to domestic destinations Barnaul, Kemerovo, Magnitogorsk, Ulyanovsk and Nizhnekamsk / Naberezhnye Chelny. The start of these flights became possible due to a state subsidy program for regional air services according to the Ordinance No. 1242 of the Government of the Russian Federation dated December 25, 2013, with the participation of the Novosibirsk Region Government in co-financing of the air services

Novosibirsk Tolmachevo airport follows the guidelines and recommendations of the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) and the Federal Supervision Agency for Customer Pro-tection and Human Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor). The necessary anti-epidemic protection measures are being taken in the context of a coronavirus pandemic.

The Novosibirsk International Airport (Tolmachevo) named after A.I. Pokryshkin is the largest transit air hub beyond the Urals on the most important routes between Europe and Asia. At the end of 2019, the airport has served about 6,747 million passengers.
