Last year, the Tolmachevo airport has served 6,747,151 passengers (+14.2%). The number of passengers on domestic flights has amounted to 4,903,212 (+14.5%), and on international flights to 1,843,939 (+13,3%).

Airport’s Reconstruction Project Approved
JSC Airport Tolmachevo has received a positive conclusion of the state examination on the project documentation and results of engineering surveys the facility "Reconstruction of the airport terminal complex of international and domestic air lines of the international airport Novosibirsk (Tolmachevo)". Expert conclusion No. 54-1-1-3-0013-20 has been issued on February 10, 2020 by the Glavgosexpertiza (General Board of State Expert Review) of Russia.
The passenger terminal design documentation had been developed by the Spectrum Group of Companies.
Currently, applications for participation in the tender for the construction of the first stage of the new terminal complex with a total area of 56,000 square meters are being accepted. It is planned to complete the procedure for selecting a general contractor in early April 2020. The initial price of the contract for construction and installation works amounts to 13.5 billion rubles. Construction of the first phase should be completed by April 1, 2022.
The entire project must be implemented in two stages by 2025. It is planned to allocate a total of about 20 billion rubles of private investment for the design and construction of the terminal complex. The approximate total area of the airport terminal shall amount after the implementation of the two stages to more than 100,000 square meters. By 2022, Novosibirsk airport expects to increase passenger traffic to 10 million a year.

The comprehensive development of Tolmachevo airport has been implementing in a format of a large-scale public-private partnership through an interaction of all interested parties — the government of the Novosibirsk region, investors, and government agencies. Apart from the project to build a new terminal complex, the airport has been planning to reconstruct both operating runways. In addition, the construction of a Logistics postal center of the Russian Post at Tolmachevo airport with a total area of about 50,000 square meters and a capacity of up to 1 million processed mail items per day is now near completion.
The airport is being modernized as part of the implementation of paragraph 15 of the Decree No. 204 of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin dated May 7, 2018 "On national goals and strategic objectives for the development of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2024". The development of the Novosibirsk airport is one of the main stages of Novosibirsk's preparation for the Youth Ice Hockey World Championship in 2023.
The Novosibirsk International Airport (Tolmachevo) named after A.I. Pokryshkin is the largest transit air hub beyond the Urals on the most important routes between Europe and Asia. At the end of 2019, the airport has served about 6,747 million passengers. The airport's route network includes more around 100 flight destinations. Today, the airport is offering for passengers more than 2,300 practical combinations of pairs of connecting routes.
