Regional Air Transportation: Half-Year Results

For the first 6 months of the year, the passenger traffic of the Tolmachevo airport on regional airlines amounted to 526,347 persons, an exceeding the indicator of 2018 is 21%.

In the period January – June, flights to 18 destinations were operated according to the Ordinance No. 1242 of the Government of the Russian Federation dated December 25, 2013 within the framework of the state subsidy program: to Gorno-Altaysk, Voronezh, Kargasok, Kogalym, Kyzyl, Nadym, Nizhnevartovsk, Novokuznetsk, Novy Urengoy, Noyabrsk, Perm, North Yeniseisk, Strezhevoy, Surgut, Tomsk, Ulan-Ude, Ufa and Khanty-Mansiysk. Flights to these destinations are operated by S7 Airlines, NordStar, Utair, and SiLA. The number of passengers served on these flights was 118,922 (+569 %).

It should be noted that the destinations Novokuznetsk and Voronezh became the new regular lines of regional route network of the Novosibirsk international airport in 2019, exposed under Ordinance No. 1242.

Outside the program of subsidizing regional air transportation the number of flights on existing routes to Krasnoyarsk, Talakan, Omsk, Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg, and Bratsk was increased within the period between January and June 2019.

The development of the regional air transportation program contributes to the achievement of the goals outlined in presidential Decree No. 204 of May 7, 2018 “On national goals and strategic objectives of the country's development for the period up to 2024”. The Tolmachevo airport offers passengers of regional destinations convenient connections for flights on the main directions of direct flights at the airports of the Moscow aviation hub.

The number of practically combinations used by passengers of transfer connections with a transfer to Tolmachevo in June increased to 2,275 (+23.3% compared to the same period last year).

The Novosibirsk International Airport (Tolmachevo) named after A.I. Pokryshkin is the largest transit air hub beyond the Urals on the most important routes between Europe and Asia. At the end of 2018, the airport has served about 5,909 million passengers. The airport's route network includes more than 95 flight destinations.
