Last year, the Tolmachevo airport has served 6,747,151 passengers (+14.2%). The number of passengers on domestic flights has amounted to 4,903,212 (+14.5%), and on international flights to 1,843,939 (+13,3%).

Tolmachevo airport — participant of the Routes Silk Road 2019 Forum

From 15 to 17 July an international forum Routes Silk Road 2019 was held in Nur-Sultan, aimed at the opening and developing new aviation markets.

The event traditionally gathers a large number of participants from airports and airline companies. The forum was attended by over 250 guests, including top managers of international airline companies and airports, the top executives of state authorities and representatives of industry organizations, financial institutions, large international corporations and aviation experts.

Natalia Mzhelskaya, Commercial Director of JSC "Airport Tolmachevo", acting as the representative of the airport at the forum, held a number of working meetings and negotiations with airline companies, as well as with foreign international airports. During the meetings there were discussed the prospects of new flight directions opening from Novosibirsk, expansion of cooperation with existing partners and issues of airlines partnership in the development of transfer traffic through the Novosibirsk airport.

The meetings were held with Turkish Airlines, Air Astana, Air China, Hainan Airlines, China Southern, China Eastern, Azal, LOT Polish Airlines, Atlasglobal Airlines, Urumqi Air, Qazaq Air, FlyArystan, Belavia Belarusian Airlines, AirAsia Group, etc. Issues of joint marketing support for new routes were discussed with airport representatives.

In addition, a separate meeting was held with representatives of the International Air Transport Association (IATA). It was devoted to the discussion of the association’s new software product for passenger flows estimation.

The World Route Development Forum is one of the world's major aviation events with representatives from airports, airline companies, suppliers, investors, international and regional associations, national tourism organizations and journalists. Routes is annually organized in different countries. The forum is based on pre-planned 20-minutes long business meetings, which provide a real opportunity to establish new and strengthen old contacts in the global aviation industry. These meetings are aimed at the development and expansion of air routes range. Representatives of airports and airline companies from all over the world recognized the Routes forum as the main venue for negotiations and meetings.

Routes Silk Road 2019 is a unique forum for the development of air routes for the CIS countries, Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Central Asia. On its site, such issues as creating more direct air routes, increasing the level of air service, as well as establishing contacts and exchanging experience between representatives of airline companies, airports and organizations operating in the field of tourism are resolved. The program of the three-day event includes a forum, exhibitions and personal meetings of entrepreneurs in the B2B format.
