Tolmachevo Airport is a Participant of the VIII-th International Siberian Transport Forum
Tolmachevo airport took part in the VIII-th International Siberian Transport Forum. Issues of updating the transport strategy of Russia, increasing the economic feasibility of large infrastructure projects of the Siberian Federal District, forms of regional transportation subsidy programs were discussed at the event, held from 22 to 25 May on the sites of the Novosibirsk Expo Centre.
Deputy Minister of transport of the Russian Federation Alexander Yurchik, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Siberian Federal District Sergey Menyailo, Governor of the Novosibirsk region Andrey Travnikov took part in the key events of the forum.
When opening the forum, Sergey Menyailo noted the role of the Novosibirsk region as a link between the West and the East.
On the first day of the forum during the plenary discussion "National Projects. View From the Regions" the factors, positively influencing the growth of regional transport hubs load and the development of small aircraft, were discussed. The event was attended by the General Director of JSC "Tolmachevo Airport" Evgeniy Yankilevich, who delivered a report on "Novosibirsk (Tolmachevo). Passenger and Mail and Cargo Hub. Effective Solution to Achieve the Goals of the National Project".
"As of today, Tolmachevo airport has already developed as s transfer hub. Due to the unique geographical location it ensures convenience of connections, reduces travel time and the cost of air travel, improves transport accessibility for residents of remote regions of the country", said Evgeniy Yankilevich.
During the forum, there was held an extended meeting of the Expert group on aviation development in the Siberian Federal District, the project office and the Expert Advisory Council on transport of the Interregional Association of the Economic Cooperation of the Constituent Entities of the Russian Federation “Siberian Accord”.
On 24 May, as part of the panel discussion "Reconstruction of infrastructure of regional airports", Igor Leontyev, the aviation business development department, and Marina Zorina, the head of legal and corporate affairs department, delivered a joint report on "Reconstruction of Tolmachevo airport. Cooperation of private investors and the state in the implementation of major investment projects in the field of airport infrastructure".
The report highlighted intensive development of the airport route network, growth of passenger traffic and development of the airport as a transfer hub, necessitating the reconstruction of the airfield complex, terminal and development of the airport infrastructure.
As a result of the event, there were formulated the proposals, which will be sent to the Federal authorities, in particular those related to the reconstruction of the artificial surface runway-1 complex, the transport accessibility of Tolmachevo airport, as well as the proposals for amendments to the state support program for regional air service.
On the third day of the forum Deputy Minister of transport of the Russian Federation Alexander Yurchik, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Siberian Federal District Sergey Menyailo and the head of the Novosibirsk region Andrey Travnikov summed up the results of the conference.
The International Siberian Transport Forum is a key platform in Siberia for the interaction of transport industry participants, discussion of key aspects of the functioning of all modes of transport and decision-making for the development of transport and logistics infrastructure and road complex. The forum is traditionally held with the support of the Government of the Novosibirsk region, the Ministry of transport of the Russian Federation and the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and it annually attracts at least 8,000 participants of the business program of the exhibition.
NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport (Tolmachevo) is the largest transit air hub beyond the Urals on the most important directions between Europe and Asia. Following the results of 2018 the airport serviced 5.909 million passengers. The airport's route network includes more than 95 flight destinations. As of today, the airport offers passengers more than 2,000 practical combinations of pairs of connecting routes.
