Tolmachevo served over half a millon passengers according to July results
Tolmachevo airport continues its development as a major Trans-Urals aviation hub. Due to its wide-spread network of routes and attractive geographical position for destinations between Europe and Asia, Tolmachevo airport’s transfer passenger traffic has been rapidly growing.
According to the results of seven months, the number of transfer passengers of the airport has increased by 57.4% compared to the same period of the past year. The share of transfer passengers amounted to 20% of the whole passenger traffic.

Throughout seven months of the year 2017, Tolmachevo airport has served 2,708,644 passengers, which is 24 % growth compared to the figures of the past year. Number of passengers amounted to 1,903,484 (+16%) at domestic airlines and 805,160 (+47%) at international airlines.
In July, the passenger traffic of Tolmachevo airport increased by 17% compared to the figures of 2016 and amounted to 552,902 people, which is a record number of passengers ever served by the airport in a month period. Number of passengers amounted to 407,247 (+11%) at domestic airlines, and 145,655 (+39%) at international airlines.
Among the destinations of the highest demand in July were Antaliya (+4022%), Abakan (+665%), Omsk (+528%), Rostov-on-Don (+314%), Gorno-Altaisk (+197%), Seoul (+128%), Heraklion (+108%), Tumen (99%), Ekaterinburg (+90%), Krabi (+89%), Fergana (+79%) and Astana (+72%). At the same time, passenger traffic of far abroad routes in July increased by 69%, and it increased by 74% within seven months.
In January-July the airport has operated 13,726 flights (+16% to the same period of the past year), in July – 2,395 flights (+11%).
Throughout seven months of 2017, cargo traffic amounted to 15,823.9 tons (+23%), including 2,166.4 tons of cargo (+12%) in July.
NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport (Tolmachevo) is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the international terminal capacity – up to 1300 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO I and II Categories.
