Tolmachevo Airport Seeks to Open Additional Bus Service for Passengers
Due to the dynamic growth in the passenger traffic, there is an urgent need to open 24 hours bus service connecting NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport with the center of Novosibirsk and its main transport and transfer hubs - the Novosibirsk-Glavniy railway station and city central bus station.
To solve the problem, an appeal to the director of the current bus company was sent, to increase the frequency and organization a 24 hours traffic schedule for the existing bus express service, but unfortunately, there was no response.
Due to the lack of a response from the bus company, a letter to the Ministry of Transport and Road Management of the Novosibirsk region was sent to improve the transport accessibility of Tolmachevo airport. The letter explains that the relevance of the issue, as well as a lot of appeals of the guests of the airport and citizens of Novosibirsk, Berdsk, Akademgorodok, raise the need for the organization of a 24 hours traffic schedule of existing public transport routes and searching of additional bus companies to increase and open new bus lines connecting Tolmachevo airport with the main areas of the city.
“Minimizing of traffic jams and intensive schedule of public transport on the way to the airport are extremely important for our passengers”. – points out the General Director of JSC Airport Tolmachevo Evgeniy Yankilevich.
NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport (Tolmachevo) is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the international terminal capacity – up to 1300 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO I and II Categories. In 2016 passenger traffic of the airport exceeded the mark of 4 million passengers.
