Tolmachevo Airport Increased the Share of Transfer Passengers to 20 % in May
Within five months of the year 2017 NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport has served 1,677,426 passengers which is 28.6% more compared to the past year. There were 1,146,264 passengers served at domestic airlines (+19.8%), and there were 531,162 at international ones (+53.1%).

In May, passenger traffic of Tolmachevo airport increased by 29% compared to 2016 and amounted to 389,120 people. There were 277,409 passengers served at domestic airlines (+23.4%), and 111,711 (+45.6%) – at international ones.
Number of transfer passengers increased by 68.57% in May compared to the same period of the past year, and their share in the total passenger traffic increased to 19.9%.

According to General Director of JSC Airport Tolmachevo Evgeniy Yankilevich, every fifth passenger of Novosibirsk airport is a transfer passenger, and Tolmachevo now is among the top three Russian airports with its share of transfer passengers.
The most dynamic routes in May were Tyumen (+341.2%), Anapa (+294.9%), Gorno-Altaysk (+180.4%), Blagoveshchensk (+138.8%), Ulan-Ude (+131%) as well as Fergana (+135.8%), Prague (130.6%), Ust Kamenogorsk (+119.5%), Shymkent (+109%), Harbin (+74.9%) and Cam Ranh (+71%). At the same time the growth of passenger traffic on far abroad routes was 78.4%, and it was 17.2% on CIS routes.

From January to May the airport served 18,308 aircraft movements (+20.2% compared to the same period of the past year), and 4,136 aircraft movements – in May (+19.5%).
11,459 tons of cargoes and mail (+28%) were handled within the first five months of 2017, among which 2,435 tons of cargoes and mail (+18%) having been handled in May.
NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport (Tolmachevo) is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the international terminal capacity – up to 1300 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO I and II Categories. In 2016 passenger traffic of the airport exceeded the mark of 4 million passengers.
