Growth of Passenger Traffic Continues in February
For the first two months of 2017, NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport served 607,315 passengers (+ 27.3% compared to the same period of 2016). Number of passengers on domestic routes amounted to 400,005 (+16.4%) and 207,310 (+55.2%) on international routes.

In February, 2017, passenger traffic of Tolmachevo airport increased by 25% compared to the same period of 2016 and amounted to 286,350. 188,724 passengers (+11.4%) were served on domestic routes; 97,626 (+62.1%) were served on international routes.
Number of the airport’s transfer passengers increased by 71% compared to the same period of the past year. In February, the share of passengers using Novosibirsk airport as a transfer hub exceeded 17% of the total passenger traffic.
Five domestic routes with the largest growth of passenger traffic in February include Tyumen (+317.6%), Krasnodar (+213%), Sochi (+161.3%), Simferopol (+90%) and Blagoveshchensk (+65.7%). As for the international routes - Cam Ranh (+178.3%), Goa (+172.1%), Urumqi (+149.9%), Ust Kamenogorsk (+131.4%) and Fergana (+93.9%) demonstrated the highest growth. It should be also noted that passenger traffic on international routes this February was twice as large as for the same period of the past year; passenger traffic of CIS routes increased by one third.
In January-February, the airport handled 6,598 aircraft movements (+17.6% to the same period of the past year), and 3,138 aircraft movements (+14.4%) in February.
According to preliminary data, 3,660 tons of cargos and post (+178%) have been handled within the first two months, including 1,972 tons of cargos and post (+12.8%) in February.
NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport (Tolmachevo) is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the international terminal capacity – up to 1300 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO I and II Categories. In 2016 passenger traffic of the airport exceeded the mark of 4 million passengers.
