Last year, the Tolmachevo airport has served 6,747,151 passengers (+14.2%). The number of passengers on domestic flights has amounted to 4,903,212 (+14.5%), and on international flights to 1,843,939 (+13,3%).

An Exhibition of Facsimile Reproductions of World Masterpieces from the Collection of the Novosibirsk State Art Museum has been Opened at Tolmachevo Airport

The Tolmachevo airport together with the Novosibirsk Publlic Art Museum have organized an exhibition of reproductions of paintings from the Museum's collection. The exhibition is located in the sterile area of the sector A (domestic airlines) of the Tolmachevo airport complex, immediately after the pre-flight inspection area.

Among the displays which are available for viewing to passengers of the Tolmachevo airport, you can admire such world art masterpieces as “Pine forest” by Ivan Shishkin, “Portrait of Duke A.S. Dolgoruky” by Vasily Tropinin, “Portrait of Catherine II Legislator in the Temple of the Goddess of Justice” by Dmitry Levitsky, etc. All the artworks presented at the exhibition are reproduced with a detailed accuracy. In total, the exhibition includes six reproductions of paintings by famous artists.

“The Novosibirsk region is the largest center of culture beyond the Urals. The Novosibirsk State Art Museum largely sets trends in the development of the artistic life of the region, enriching it with new formats. The exhibition at the Tolmachevo airport is another step in the expansion of the exhibition space, a step towards the residents and guests of the region, giving the opportunity even in the conditions of pre-flight shortage of time to get acquainted with the Museum's collections. Such collaborations like the project of the Art Museum and the Tolmachevo airport shall contribute of course to the positioning of the Novosibirsk region as a modern region of high culture", - said the Deputy Minister of culture of the Novosibirsk region Mr. Evgeny Sazonov.

And, as confirmation of the above, we enjoy the opening ceremony of a unique exhibition of facsimile reproductions from the Museum's collections, at the Tolmachevo airport. Undoubtedly, the exhibition will arouse an interest of visitors. This exhibition gives once again for the residents of Novosibirsk a reason to be proud of our beautiful city, the art Museum, Tolmachevo airport, which perfectly performs its direct duties in passenger service and creates art projects,” said Mr. Sergey Dubrovin, Director of the Novosibirsk State Art Museum, at the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

“Such exhibitions have been organized not for the first time at the Tolmachevo Airport, an interesting cultural space is being created for our passengers,” said Mr. Evgeniy Yankilevich, General Director of JSC “Tolmachevo Airport”. – “They allow passengers and guests of our airport to approach arts while waiting for a flight, which is not always possible to do in everyday life, as well as form an idea of the rich cultural fund of Novosibirsk museums.”

Novosibirsk State Art Museum was founded on January 7, 1957 and opened for visitors on December 27, 1958.

The Museum is formed as a traditional collection of classical and modern Russian arts. His collection is based on the artworks received from the funds of the Ministries of culture of the RSFSR and the USSR, from the vaults of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, The State Hermitage Museum, the State Museum of fine arts named after A.S. Pushkin, the Pavlovsk Palace Museum and other Russian collections. To date, the main fund of the Museum consists of more than 12 thousand displays.

The Museum exhibits samples of iconography XVI-XX centuries; paintings of famous Russian painters which had lived between XVIII and XIX centuries, e.g. D.G. Levitsky, V.L. Borovikovsky, K.P. Bryullov, I.I. Shishkin, I.I. Levitan, I.E. Repin, V.I. Surikov. Here, you can acquaint yourself with diverse trends in domestic arts of the period between the late XIX century and the first third of the XX century, the artworks of K.A. Korovin, A.Ya. Golovin, Z.E. Serebryakova, I.I. Mashkov, P.P. Konchalovsky, R.R. Falk, A.V. Shevchenko, K.S. Petrov-Vodkin and many other masters. A special part of the exhibition is a collection of paintings made by N.K. Roerich, relating to the late period of the artist. The regional originality of the collection is reflected in the unique section of Siberian art of the twentieth century. A large place in the Museum halls is devoted to the artworks of contemporary authors.

A traditional cooperation of the Novosibirsk State Art Museum with colleagues from the Siberian region, with leading museums in Moscow and St. Petersburg, with cultural representations of European countries in Russia allows it to conduct an active and diverse exhibition activities, significantly affecting the development of the artistic life of the city and annually organize more than 90 exhibitions.

The Novosibirsk International Airport (Tolmachevo) named after A.I. Pokryshkin is the largest transit air hub beyond the Urals on the most important routes between Europe and Asia. At the end of 2018, the airport has served about 5,909 million passengers. The airport's route network includes more than 95 flight destinations. Today, the airport is offering for passengers more than 2300 practical combinations of pairs of connecting routes.
