A New Step to Develop Regional Air Services in the Siberian Federal District
Novaport continues to support development of regional air services in the Siberian Federal District.
On August 11, Siberian Light Aviation (SiLA) airline performed the first flight from Tomsk to Kargasok, the centre of the Kargasok district (in the north of Tomsk region).
The passengers of the first flight were Governor of Tomsk region Sergey Zhvachkin, General Manager of SiLA Ltd. airline Andrey Bogdanov, Deputy General Manager, Head of the Siberian division of Novaport, General Manager of JSC Airport Tolmachevo Yevgeny Yankilevich.
A possibility to organize regular flights on the route Tomsk-Kargasok with a frequency up to 3 times a week is now under consideration. Specialists of Novaport are taking part in the preparation of the projects for runways reconstruction and establishment of the necessary infrastructure at the landing sites in Tomsk region. The projects are being implemented by the region’s governing bodies.

It should be mentioned that June 17, there was a conference on the development of interregional air communication held by the Envoy from the President of the Russian Federation in the Siberian Federal District Sergey Menyaylo in Belokurikha. First Deputy Chairman of the Government of Altay Kray Sergey Loktev, government officials and heads of some enterprises of Altai Kray, General Manager of SiLA Ltd. airline Andrey Bogdanov, General Manager of JSC Airport Tolmachevo Yevgeny Yankilevich took part in the conference.
The conference was help in connection with test flight on Tomsk – Novosibirsk – Belokurikha route performed by Siberian Light Aviation airline. In particular, a possibility to use landing field Belokurikha for arrangement of regular passenger flights as well as development of airports in Altay Kray was discussed.
Sergey Menyaylo pointed out that development of interregional and regional air communication in Siberian Federal District is highly important in the fulfillment of the project of transport accessibility for the people living in the region, as well as in the development of the region’s economy. The Envoy emphasized the fact that air routes to Siberian resort areas are socially important and have to be supported by the state. At present, the members of the Expert Group on the Development of Aviation in the Siberian Federal District jointly with the representatives of regional executive bodies are working over the proposal on the measures to support such routes by the Ministry of Transportation of Russia.
According to General Manager of JSC Airport Tolmachevo Yevgeny Yankilevich, Novaport is interested in the development of regional air services. “Our company is ready to take part in the modernization of airports and air sites. In particular, we are working over the development projects for the airports of Barnaul, Biysk and the landing field of Belokurikha resort town jointly with the Government of Altay Kray.” Yevgeny Yankilevich emphasized the fact that the actions succeed thanks to tripartite cooperation of government bodies, airlines and airport operators.
