On December 31, Novosibirsk Tolmachevo Airport reached a mark of five million passengers, including transit and transfer passengers, having served a record number of passengers in the history of the airport since the beginning of the year.

Tolmachevo Airport Passenger Traffic Increased in January by 30%

The amount of passengers served by NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport in January this year is 321,043, which is 30% growth compared to the same period of 2016. The number of passengers on domestic routes amounted to 211,360 (+21.4%), on international - 109,683 (+49.6%).

During the first month of the year Tolmachevo Airport handled 3,460 aircraft movements, which is 20.6% growth com-pared to January, 2016.

The most rapidly growing domestic destinations are Tyumen (passenger traffic of this route compared to January 2016 has increased 10.9 times), Krasnodar (+422.2%) and Sochi (+168.8%); for the international flights – such destinations as Fergana (+124.3%), Ust-Kamenogorsk (+123.1%), Kamran (+118.1%), Goa (+58.1%) and Phuket (+51.3%).

In January, 2017, Tolmachevo Airport handled 1,687.5 tons of cargo and mails (+24.2% against last year’s figure).

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport (Tolmachevo) is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the international terminal capacity – up to 1300 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO I and II Categories. In 2016 passenger traffic of the airport exceeded the mark of 4 million passengers.
