On 24 November 2017, Novosibirsk Tolmachevo airport reached a new record level in the history of the number of passengers since the beginning of year – 4, 5 million. Jubilee passenger was a Beijing resident – Mr. Zhao Jianping who flew from Novosibirsk to Moscow on an S7 184 flight of S7 Airlines with a transfer stop in Novosibirsk airport.

Lufthansa Cargo – New Partner of NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport
From 31 October NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport has started servicing regular flights of Lufthansa Cargo airline. Flights on Frankfurt – Shanghai and Frankfurt – Guangzhou routes with refueling landings in Novosibirsk will be performed by McDonnell Douglas MD-11 aircraft up to 8 times a week.Photo by Svetlana Balaeva
The appearance of a new cargo airline was preceded by the audit of the airport infrastructure performed by specialists of Lufthansa Cargo. Airline representatives have studied technical capacities of Tolmachevo airport with regards to aircraft ground handling, including the aircraft deicing procedures.
Following the audit results airline specialists have drawn a conclusion that equipment, ground handling vehicles and technologies of aircraft servicing in NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport comply with the security standards accepted in Lufthansa Cargo airline.
Novosibirsk Tolmachevo airport is capable of receiving and providing ground handling for almost all types of modern aircraft. The airport is certified in accordance with the IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO) standard. It is the member of The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA), which brings together leading players of the world air cargo market. Deicing of aircraft is carried out in accordance with the international guidelines on protection of aircraft from ground icing (Association of European Airlines, AEA).
A unit of English-speaking supervisors has been operating in the airport since 2009. It provides comprehensive support and cooperation with crews of foreign airlines.
Two runways of I and II ICAO categories, a great number of aircraft stands, a part of which is equipped with centralized underground fuel supply system, modern fuel supply complex as well as updated park of ground handling vehicles give Tolmachevo airport additional advantages to serve transit flights.
Beginning of cooperation with such major European air cargo carrier as Lufthansa Cargo allows further development of Novosibirsk Tolmachevo airport as one of the leading cargo hubs of Russia.
NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the international terminal capacity – up to 1300 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO I and II Categories.
